Sarah focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation and counseling, in connection with a wide range of industries, including software services, consumer products, and financial services. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants in an extensive variety of matters, including commercial and employment disputes, with significant experience in all phases of complex commercial litigation. Sarah routinely advises businesses facing contract disputes, consumer protection, noncompete covenants, fraud, trade secret and unfair competition, and copyright and trademark infringement issues.

Complex Commercial Litigation
  • Successfully obtained complete dismissal of products liability suit against Fortune 500 company.
  • Successfully obtained dismissal of all claims brought against governmental municipality clients in federal court for negligence, negligent training, retention, and supervision, violation of the Civil Rights Act, violation of the Washington State Constitution, malicious prosecution, and Monell liability.
  • Obtained seven-figure settlement for client regarding dispute over real property.
  • Successfully obtained dismissal of all state and federal securities claims against individual defendants and successfully settled remainder of claims for breach of employment contract and breach of fiduciary duties prior to trial.
  • Obtained successful denial of motion for preliminary injunction brought against client where opposing party tried to stop client from selling its products and advertising its services.
  • Obtained successful dismissal of all claims against client in federal court for lack of personal jurisdiction.

  • Obtained significant verdict including award of attorneys’ fees concerning a dispute regarding a client’s patented product in arbitration regarding license rights.
  • Obtained multi-million-dollar collective settlements on behalf of subsidiary software company to Fortune 500 company related to copyright infringement matter.
  • Obtained successful denial of motion for preliminary injunction where opposing party tried to enjoin client from using, manufacturing, selling, or marketing patented product.
  • Successfully defended copyright infringement claims against engineering firm resulting in favorable settlement and avoiding litigation.
