Creating Savings for Oklahoma Higher Education Institutions
News | December 6, 2019Kutak Rock recently served as counsel to the underwriter in connection with the issuance by The Oklahoma Development Finance Authority (ODFA) of four taxable and tax-exempt transactions totaling $39,255,000. The proceeds of the bonds financed and refinanced the acquisition of or improvement to real property and equipment on behalf of certain Oklahoma colleges and universities that are members of The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. Participating institutions included the Office of the State Regents, Tulsa Community College, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Oklahoma – Health Sciences Center, Eastern Oklahoma State College, Northeastern Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, Oklahoma State University, Redlands Community College and Rogers State University. The ODFA Master Lease Program has been in existence since 2001.
According to our internal tracking, Kutak Rock has participated in 60 financings with an aggregate principal amount of $1.8 billion in Oklahoma in 2018-2019. The firm served as underwriter’s counsel in 42 financings, disclosure counsel in 15 financings and special tax counsel in 3 financings.
