Six women from Kutak Rock attended National Association of Women Lawyers’ (NAWL) 2024 Annual Meeting in Chicago July 24-25 to help celebrate the organization’s 125th anniversary. This year’s theme, “Reflecting on Our Legacy, Advancing Toward Equality,” focused on the role of the right to vote in achieving equal rights for women.
Kutak Rock attendees included:
- Lisa Sarver, corporate partner from Omaha, who serves as co-chair of NAWL’s Women in Corporate Transactions Affinity Group
- Maggie Ebert, litigation partner from Omaha, who serves on the Host Committee
- Lindsey Andreuzzi, a litigation partner from Philadelphia
- Sarah Elsden, a litigation partner from Spokane
- Geana Van Dessel, also a litigation partner from Spokane
- Deborah Froling, a corporate partner from Washington, D.C.
Froling, who was president of NAWL from 2013-2014, enjoyed a special presentation on the history of the organization during the meeting’s Legacy Reception and was given a past presidents’ pin to commemorate her tenure.
The keynote speaker and 2024 Arabella Babb Mansfield Award recipient was Stacey Abrams, who—among many other roles—served 11 years in the Georgia House of Representatives and garnered national attention when she became a nominee for governor of Georgia and championed voter rights.
