Real Estate & Development: Stuart has extensive experience representing businesses in billions of dollars’ worth of development, acquisition, leasing, and easement transactions. His real estate work includes industry specific areas such as retail, multi-family, data centers, telecommunications infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and warehousing/distribution. He also frequently manages attorney teams handling portfolio work for securitizations and secured finance transactions nationwide. He has substantial experience with land use and realty compliance matters, including supervising large scale projects involving thousands of operating locations.
Banking & Finance: Stuart represents financial institutions and lenders in all stages of the lending life cycle, from origination to workout. He focuses on structuring, documenting, and closing asset-based commercial loans and credit facilities across various industries. Stuart’s experience includes navigating issues relating to UCC lien perfection, intercreditor negotiations, and collateral protection. Additionally, he advises lenders on troubled credit situations, providing strategic guidance on loan workouts, forbearance agreements, and the implementation of deeds in lieu of foreclosure. Beyond transactional work, Stuart assists financial institutions with operational matters, including the negotiation of treasury management agreements, deposit account agreements, and related compliance matters.
Commercial Contracts & Corporate Matters: He has a deep background in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements—including supplier, licensing, sales, service, and confidentiality agreements—tailoring terms to protect client interests in both routine and complex transactions. Beyond contract work, he often counsels clients on business planning, corporate governance, stakeholder disputes, and compliance with fiduciary duties and legal requirements.
Stuart was twice seconded to a Fortune 100 client as in-house counsel where he served as the primary legal contact for all U.S. facilities and realty matters across its portfolio of over 3,000 sites. This unique "inside out" experience provided invaluable insights into the client's operational realities, fostering a deep understanding of their day-to-day needs, complex internal processes, and critical financial objectives. This background gave Stuart a holistic perspective, allowing for the delivery of highly tailored, practical legal strategies that effectively mitigate legal risk while aligning directly with core business goals and driving desired outcomes. He strives to learn and develop a deep understanding of each client's business to provide superb legal representation.

Stuart is admitted to practice in Arkansas state and federal courts. He earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Arkansas and his B.B.A. in management information systems with honors from the University of Central Arkansas. He is also passionate about workplace well being and currently serves as Chair of Kutak Rock’s Well Being Initiative.
