Stuart enjoys handling complex legal issues to meet client needs and reduce risk. His practice involves commercial transactions and contracts, including real estate, financial institutions, and corporate matters. He’s also passionate about diversity and inclusiveness, and is currently Co-Chair of Kutak Rock's National Inclusiveness and Diversity Committee.
Stuart has represented large and small businesses in billions of dollars’ worth of commercial transactions, including real estate acquisitions, leases, supplier agreements, licensing, and other transactions. He has managed real estate due diligence projects for securitizations involving hundreds of properties across the country. He has substantial land use and compliance experience which includes handling projects for hundreds of operating locations for a Fortune 500 client. In addition, he has significant experience assisting financial institutions and lenders with commercial loans, workouts, deeds-in-lieu, treasury management services, financial services, customer service agreements, and vendor management. Other aspects of his practice involve sales, service, confidentiality, and other commercial agreements.
Stuart’s experience has also allowed him the opportunity to serve as seconded in-house counsel for a Fortune 100 client on multiple occasions, serving as the primary legal contact for its US operating locations’ day-to-day facilities and realty management matters and then as legal support for its wholesale division, preparing and negotiating commercial contracts for various business lines. These opportunities provided him a valuable “inside-out” perspective of meeting client needs while managing internal processes, financial objectives, and legal risk.
