Thomas’ cases have ranged from “bet-the-company” civil cases involving complex legal theories to obtaining an acquittal in a bank fraud criminal case. He has obtained dismissal of Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims on behalf of defendants and has extensive experience in securities litigation and shareholder disputes.

Thomas has tried more than 30 jury trials and more than 100 bench trials and arbitrations. He is rated in the top tier of business litigators in Chambers USA.

Obtained jury verdict of acquittal for bank president in federal criminal bank fraud case.
Obtained summary judgment for helicopter operator in third-party action that ultimately settled for $18.2 million.
Significant participation in securities cases consolidated for pretrial discovery by the Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation.
Achieved $4.2 million settlement for heir in estate litigation.
Achieved successful settlement in a four-year litigation challenging a gift to a national charity.
Attained successful jury verdict for defendant in defamation case.
Obtained jury verdict for plaintiff in breach of fiduciary duty case.
