David L. Bracht and Dwyer Arce to Speak on Hemp Farming Under the 2018 Farm Bill

David L. Bracht and Dwyer Arce will present on issues related to hemp farming and hemp retail sales under the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, commonly known as the "2018 Farm Bill," on Friday, June 28 at 9:00 AM at Creighton University School of Law. The two partners have significant experience in cannabis law and regulation, and agricultural law generally, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. Their presentation will delve into the nuances of the legislation and the often-murky federal regulations and policies related to hemp.

David has more than 35 years’ experience in business, government and law, including senior management experience in private industry and federal and state government agencies. He advises clients focused on energy efficiency projects and on renewable energy projects including biofuels, biomass, solar and wind energy, as well as lenders and vendors to the energy sector. David also works with producers and agribusinesses involved in production, processing and sale of agriculture products, along with lenders, insurers and other firms supporting agriculture and food industries. Based on his multiple government appointments, David also represents firms obtaining permits and otherwise interacting with federal, state, and local government agencies and regulators.

Dwyer focuses his practice on appeals and commercial litigation in state, territorial, and federal courts across the country. He has represented clients at trial, arbitration, administrative hearings, and on appeal in a wide range of cases involving cannabis regulation and enforcement, agribusiness disputes, and other commercial matters, including contract and corporate governance disputes, tax appeals, among others. Dwyer’s appellate and commercial litigation practices have been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America©, which designated Dwyer as a "Lawyer of the Year" in appellate practice in 2023.
