Additional Affordable Housing Units in Douglas County, Colorado

Resulting from two recent financings, there are additional affordable housing units on their way in Douglas County, Colorado.  

Kutak Rock served as bond counsel to the Douglas County Housing Partnership, a multijurisdictional housing authority (DCHP), in connection with the issuance of its Multifamily Housing Revenue Note (Apex Meridian South Project), Series 2021 in the amount not to exceed $28,725,813. The Series 2021 Note financed a portion of the acquisition, construction, improvement and equipping of the Apex Meridian South Apartments, an affordable housing facility consisting of approximately 208 units located at 8767 Jamaica Street, Englewood in Douglas County, Colorado.

The firm also acted as bond counsel to DCHP in connection with the issuance of its Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds (Bridgewater Castle Rock Project), Series 2021 in the amount not to exceed $38,435,000. The Series 2021 Bonds financed a portion of the costs of the acquisition, construction, improvement and equipping of a senior housing facility consisting of approximately 142 units within the means of families of low or moderate income, located at 4003 Home Street, Castle Rock in Douglas County, Colorado.

The availability of affordable housing in Colorado continues to be a challenge for many households and has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are pleased to have participated in the financing and creation of 350 new units of affordable housing.
