David Bracht to Speak at 106th Annual Nebraska Farmers Union State Convention
News | December 4, 2019David Bracht, former Nebraska Director of Energy and Kutak Rock of counsel, will speak at the 106th annual Nebraska Farmers Union (NeFU) state convention on December 6 at 1:35 p.m. in Norfolk, Nebraska. The convention, “Harnessing the Power of Organization to Serve Family Farm Agriculture since 1913,” will be held in the Divots Conference Center December 6-7.
Mr. Bracht will provide an update on the status of industrial hemp, specifically information regarding the recent publication by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) of the rules and regulations for States and Indian Tribes to submit plans allowing for the domestic production of hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill. He will also provide an overview of LB657, the Nebraska Hemp Act, which permits the growth and cultivation of industrial hemp in the state. He will be joined by Senator Tom Brandt, a member of the Nebraska Unicameral representing District 32.
