Kutak Rock served as Special Tax Counsel and Underwriter’s Counsel in connection with the issuance of $80,385,000 of Lease Revenue Bonds (Provident Group-Flagship Properties L.L.C.—Louisiana State University Greenhouse District (Phase III) Project) Series 2019A and $250,000 of Taxable Lease Revenue Bonds (Provident Group-Flagship Properties L.L.C.—Louisiana State University Greenhouse District (Phase III) Project) Series 2019B.  Proceeds of the Bonds provided funds to finance (a) the design, acquisition, development, construction, furnishing and equipping of two new student housing facilities consisting of approximately 881 beds, together with all buildings, improvements, fixtures, furnishings, equipment and associated site infrastructure and amenities necessary for the operation thereof and (b) the design, acquisition, development and construction of certain parking and other facilities, together with all buildings, improvements, fixtures, furnishings, equipment and associated site infrastructure and amenities necessary for the operation thereof. 

The financed project is expected to come on-line for the fall of 2021 semester and is located at Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The financed project is the third phase of a public-private development venture to revitalize older sections of LSU’s campus, create a significant new gateway onto the campus, and provide both new and renovated on-campus housing.
