Kutak Rock Represents Midwest Respiratory Care, Inc. in Recent Sale of Certain Division Assets

Kutak Rock recently represented Midwest Respiratory Care, Inc. (“MRC”) of Omaha, Nebraska in the sale of its respiratory assets for retail and individual customers in its durable medical equipment division to Great Elm DME, Inc., a publicly traded company based in Waltham, Massachusetts (“Great Elm”).

Founded in 2005, MRC offers oxygen concentrators, continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure machines, vented holding chambers, electric and non-electric hospital beds, alternating pressure pads, low air loss mattresses, wheelchairs, and ambulatory medical equipment to patients with respiratory needs. Great Elm provides durable medical equipment to customers with respiratory needs in Alaska, Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon and Washington. It also operates sleep testing centers and provides power mobility and other home medical equipment.

MRC plans to focus on its remaining operations in its durable medical equipment business servicing institutional customers, such as hospice care facilities, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
