Kutak Rock’s team of federal energy experts works for federal agencies, developers, lenders, investors and others. Projects have included the largest federal solar projects, wind projects, bio-fuel projects, co- and tri-generation facilities, micro-grids, hydro-projects, transmission projects and small modular reactor development. The contracting includes military utilities privatization, ESPCs, PPAs, leases and enhanced use leases, UESCs, cooperative agreement contracting, exchanges, military housing contracting, energy demand contracting and other contracting. The team has been hired by federal agencies to structure and close transactions, write books, federal regulations, and requests for proposals. Further, our team has written books and articles on how to contract with and structure power purchase agreements and other agreements with federal agencies. The team regularly speaks at national conferences and frequently speaks with Congressional committees, federal agencies, national energy associations and others on improving federal energy contracting and purchasing. The team has drafted proposed federal model energy legislation for several clients.
