Handlos and Dieterich Author Security Breach Article In The Corporate Counselor Newsletter

Kutak Rock attorneys Bryan Handlos and Elise Dieterich authored the article “Vendor Limitations of Liability for Security Breaches: The Alimentary Canal Problem” in the August 2015 edition of The Corporate Counselor newsletter.

In the article Handlos and Dieterich discuss issues associated with information security breaches and outline the responsibilities of vendors with respect to those breaches. The article focuses on vendors' attempts to limit their liability. Included are several options to consider during the initial negotiation of a vendor’s limitation of liability.

Handlos is a partner in the firm’s Omaha office and concentrates his practice on bank regulatory and consumer financial services matters. He represents banks, nonbank financial services providers and commercial customers acquiring financial services products. His experience includes consumer compliance, retail banking, operations, treasury services and core bank regulatory topics.

Dieterich is a partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She advises clients on a wide range of matters affected by government regulation, concentrating on telecommunications, privacy and data security matters. She also has extensive experience as a litigator and mediator. Dieterich is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US), credentialed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
