Sam S. Balisy, Matthias M. Edrich, and David Mnatsakanyan advised the Curtis School in connection with a $23,885,000 tax-exempt financing to fund a portion of the cost of the School's Collaborative Learning and Innovation Center. The Center will enhance the School’s educational focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The Center will include an engineering/construction lab, maker space with 3D printing capabilities, ceramics, science and art classrooms, dance and movement studios, and a robotics lab. The tax-exempt financing provided the School with a significantly lower borrowing cost while achieving a flexible payment and prepayment structure.

Curtis School is an independent, co-educational day school for students in developmental kindergarten through grade six. Founded in 1925, the School is located on a 27-acre campus on Mulholland Drive near the Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
