Kutak Rock Serves as Disclosure Counsel to The Regents of the University of Colorado for Issuance of Green Bonds

Kutak Rock served as Disclosure Counsel for the issuance of The Regents of the University of Colorado, University Enterprise Revenue and Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 2019B and The Regents of the University of Colorado, University Enterprise Revenue and Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 2019C (Term Rate Bonds) (Green Bonds).  The proceeds from the sale of the Series 2019B Bonds will be used for the purposes of financing and refinancing various campus improvements, including the renovation of and upgrades to the Fleming Building and Campus Village Apartments.  The proceeds of the Series 2019C Green Bonds will be used to finance and refinance various campus improvements, including the First Year Student Housing Project on the Denver Campus, Aerospace Engineering Sciences Building project and Williams Village East project. 

The University is pursuing LEED certification for the First Year Student Housing Project, Aerospace Engineering Sciences Building and Williams Village East.  LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world.  Available for virtually all building, community and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings.  LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement. A green bond is a bond whose proceeds are used to fund environment/climate-friendly projects.
