Kutak Rock Serves as Special Arizona Counsel on Harlingen Convention Center Hotel Financing
News | April 17, 2019Kutak Rock served as special Arizona counsel to Provident Group – Harlingen Properties LLC, whose sole member is Provident Resources Group Inc., in connection with the issuance of $32 million of tax-exempt revenue bonds by the Arizona Industrial Development Authority. Proceeds of the bonds financed the costs of acquiring, designing, constructing and equipping a full-service, upscale convention center hotel with 149 rooms, located in the City of Harlingen, Texas.
The hotel will be operated as a franchised Hilton Garden Inn and will offer all of the services and amenities expected for an upscale hotel serving both corporate and leisure transient guests. Food and beverage amenities will include a full-service three-meal restaurant, a lobby bar, and a breakfast buffet. Other amenities will include a business center, high-speed Internet, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and a sundry shop. The hotel is located adjacent to the Harlingen convention center.
When complete, at a cost of approximately $16.7 million, the convention center will be an approximately 44,000 square foot facility and will contain a 16,000 square-foot ballroom. Also included is a 3,600-square-foot meeting space and a banquet-capable kitchen. With a total of 19,800 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, the convention center will have the largest amount of function space in the local market.
