Bruce A. Wilson


Bruce practices primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, workout and Uniform Commercial Code matters. His practice focuses on representing creditors, including financial guaranty insurers and indenture trustees.

Bruce's practice is national in scope and includes providing bankruptcy and UCC advice in structuring new transactions, securitizations and bond financings, resolving disputes in troubled transactions and workouts, and enforcing remedies. He also represents bond insurers, including in a variety of state tax credit transactions. The varied transactions Bruce has worked on include the securitization of various receivables such as mortgage loans, auto loans, state Tobacco settlement receivables and tax liens, privatized military housing transactions, toll road financings, financings of sports stadiums and airport facilities, and international transactions such as the issuance of bonds by special-purpose entities in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda and the securitization of receivables from obligors in France, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Thailand and leases of sea containers shipped worldwide.

Bruce's experience also includes appearing in numerous bankruptcy cases filed by municipal debtors, corporate debtors and FDIC receiverships. Bruce also delivers legal opinions on various bankruptcy and UCC matters and negotiates repurchase agreements and other investment contracts. Bruce's appearances in bankruptcy cases include cases filed by Orange County, California, Detroit, Michigan, Enron Corp., Lehman Brothers Inc., US Airways, numerous mortgage loan originators and securitizers and numerous commercial real estate developers. He has also represented a major creditor in several transactions involving ponzi schemes.
