Philip devotes his practice to complex civil litigation involving contract disputes, insurance litigation, bad faith and coverage disputes, employment law, real estate, construction, business torts, fiduciary breach, negligence and personal injury, and general commercial matters. He has represented numerous public and private corporations, insurers, governmental entities and agencies, tribal entities, and prominent individuals.

Philip was honored by Super Lawyers® as a Southwest Rising Star for 2012 and 2013.

Prior to joining Kutak Rock LLP, Philip represented various Arizona governmental entities at the state and local level in a broad range of multimillion-dollar litigation matters, including claims for employment discrimination and sexual harassment, wrongful death, personal injury, negligent road design and civil rights violations. He also has extensive experience in litigating a variety of employment claims including sexual discrimination and harassment, racial discrimination and harassment, age discrimination and retaliation, disability discrimination and retaliation, Family Medical Leave Act, wage and hour and whistleblower claims.

  • Representing national insurance carriers in disputes arising out of policy and coverage disputes.
  • Representing governmental entities at the state and local level in a broad range of multimillion-dollar litigation matters, including claims for employment discrimination and sexual harassment, wrongful death, personal injury, negligent road design and civil rights violations.
  • Successfully defended claims against personal guarantor of real estate development entity where potential liability exceeded $1.5 million.
  • Successfully defended a national mortgage company through summary judgment and appeal against claims arising out of alleged failure to disclose square footage of purchased residence.
  • Successfully represented local Arizona real estate developer in prosecuting claims for interference with contract and related causes of action where third party interfered with and caused commercial real estate development project to fail.
