O'Hara and Gandy's Loan Officer Article is Cover Story of Nebraska Banker Magazine

Kutak Rock attorneys Gigi O'Hara and Meaghan Gandy co-authored an article, “Mortgage Loan Officers: The Classification Debate Continues," in the September/October 2015 edition of Nebraska Banker magazine. The article is featured in the Counselor’s Corner section, which focuses on providing guidance on relevant legal issues. Nebraska Banker is the official publication of the Nebraska Bankers Association.

In the article, O'Hara and Gandy discuss the legal debate regarding the classification of mortgage loan officers as either exempt or non-exempt employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

O'Hara, a partner in the firm's Omaha office, counsels clients on a range of employment matters such as employee discipline, performance, drug testing, terminations, misappropriation of trade secrets and breaches of fiduciary duties. She regularly drafts employment contracts, separation agreements and restrictive covenants and frequently advises clients regarding wage and hour issues including minimum wage and overtime compensation, exemptions, deductions, compensable hours worked and donning and doffing.

Gandy, an associate in Omaha, focuses on employment litigation. She represents employers in all stages of employment litigation and also provides day-to-day advice on a wide variety of employment issues.
