Kutak Rock attorney Bryan Handlos authored an article, “Your Bank Is Not a Gazelle," in the July/August 2015 edition of Nebraska Banker magazine. The article discusses EMV as a fraud-fighting tool. EMV is "Europay, MasterCard and Visa" and refers to a set of specifications used to implement a particular technology to minimize fraud. Central to that technology are chip cards that incorporate an embedded microchip that can provide protection that is superior to magnetic stripe cards and is supposedly virtually impossible to counterfeit.
