Kutak Rock Named “Ceiling Smasher” Law Firm for Women Partners

News - Inclusive Engagement | October 2, 2025

Kutak Rock continues to earn the title “Ceiling Smasher,” according to Law360 Pulse’s 2025 Women in Law Report. The report highlights U.S. law firms for their outstanding record of promoting women attorneys to equity partnership.

Law360 Pulse’s ranking uses a pipeline score methodology to assess how well firms are hiring, promoting and retaining women attorneys in line with the available talent pool.

Kutak Rock is ranked fifth among law firms comprised of 251 to 600 total attorneys with 33.2% of its equity partners being women compared to the national average of 26%.

“At Kutak Rock, I have seen firsthand how support and mentorship can create opportunities for every lawyer to thrive,” said Ashley Dennis, Denver partner and co-chair of Kutak Rock’s Women’s Initiative. “As a woman, I am proud to practice among lawyers and team members who are truly invested in my advancement and professional growth.”

Since its founding in 1965, Kutak Rock has proactively supported women lawyers’ careers and instituted policies and procedures that create equal opportunity for everyone. Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Lindsey Miller-Lerman, who recently announced her retirement, is a recent example of the firm’s long-time commitment. She joined Kutak Rock in 1976 as an associate and made partner despite working part-time as a single mother. At the time, it made national headlines and demonstrated Kutak Rock’s forward-thinking policies and career support.

Since those early days, the firm’s culture has embraced equity in the legal profession, making strategic efforts to hire the best and brightest talent and supporting them through all stages of their careers. Law360 attributes Ceiling Smashers’ success to specific kinds of efforts—ones that Kutak Rock has been making for most of its existence.
