Kutak Rock is pleased to announce that three of the firm’s attorneys will be featured presenters at the Annual Arkansas Federal Tax Institute (AFTI), hosted by the Arkansas Society of CPAs on December 4 - 5, 2025. This long-standing program brings together tax professionals from across the region for two days of technical updates and practical insights on federal, state and multistate tax issues.

On December 4, Chase Waters and Tim Igo will co-present a session on “Section 1202 – Qualified Business Stock and Venture Capital.” Their presentation will explore key considerations surrounding qualified small business stock, including planning opportunities, compliance challenges and trends affecting venture-backed companies and their investors. Both attorneys regularly advise clients on federal tax matters, and their session will offer timely guidance for professionals navigating Section 1202 issues in today’s market.

On December 5, Matt Boch will present at two separate sessions: an “Arkansas Tax Update,” with TJ Lawhon, a partner at Wright Lindsey Jennings, followed by a presentation on “Public Law 86-272 & Multistate Tax Trends” with Nichole Malchar from Ernst & Young. With extensive experience in state and local tax policy, litigation and multistate compliance, Matt will provide attendees with an in-depth look at recent legislative changes, significant case developments and emerging trends that affect businesses operating in Arkansas and beyond.

AFTI will be offered in person in Little Rock and via live webcast, giving participants multiple ways to access the insights shared by Kutak Rock’s speakers.
