This event will allow finance professionals who work in debt management to hear from leading experts, seasoned practitioners, and regulators on various issues that impact municipal issuers. Matthias will speak on a panel that will include government speakers and issuer representatives.

A summary of the panel:

The IRS and Department of the Treasury are responsible for developing and implementing numerous rules regarding tax-exempt bonds and other financings used by state and local governments and entities.  This includes the forthcoming rules for the new energy tax credit program, enforcement of arbitrage rebate rules, private use standards and monitoring, IRS 8038 forms, recordkeeping requirements for outstanding bonds, and areas of interest to IRS auditors.  Officials at the Treasury Department and the IRS and market experts will be part of this session to discuss key matters issuers need to be aware of to comply with these tax rules and programs.
