Kutak Rock is pleased to announce that attorney Joshua M. Schneider (Josh) has joined its corporate and government services practice group as of counsel. Josh is based in Chicago but will work as a member of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Josh will practice in the community development space, advising clients on the utilization of historic rehabilitation tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy tax credits as sources of financing for real estate and renewable energy investments.

Josh brings to Kutak Rock experience representing corporate, partnership, and individual taxpayers in all stages of federal tax controversy, including examination, administrative appeal, litigation, and trial. Josh’s experience includes significant tax cases before the United States Tax Court involving complex issues, including the tax implications of a guest loyalty program and debt equity characterization. He previously served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Justice Peter J. Maassen of the Alaska Supreme Court. 

Josh received a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and graduated cum laude, Order of the Coif. He also earned a master’s degree from City College of New York and a B.S. from Bates College. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the US Tax Court.
