Kutak Rock Leads Nation in Number of Bond Counsel Transactions

In 2022 Kutak Rock closed more deals as bond counsel than any other firm and for the second consecutive year was ranked second in the nation by principal amount in Refinitiv’s Year-end Annual Review. For 2022 the firm closed 406 issues aggregating $19.19 billion and 5.4% market share.

In the role of disclosure counsel, the firm placed fifth nationally in 2022 with 105 issues aggregating $9.092 billion. The firm also placed seventh for underwriter’s counsel with 215 issues, more than any other firm, aggregating $9.274 billion. Additionally, in the role of special tax counsel, the firm surpassed last year’s ranking by eight spots and more than $300 million, placing sixth nationally in 2022.

Notably, the firm placed first among both bond and disclosure counsel firms in airport financings and was again ranked first for bond counsel in single-family housing transactions. In the area of underwriter’s counsel, Kutak Rock took the top spot in deals involving student loans and economic development.

In the role of green bond counsel, an important and emerging field, the firm surpassed last year’s ranking by 18 spots placing second nationally with seven issues aggregating $1.683 billion. The firm also placed first in green disclosure counsel, up four spots from last year with five issues aggregating $1.525 billion.
