Andrew Shedlock, a litigation partner in the Minneapolis office, will present at the Financial Planners Association Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

Andrew’s session will focus on Cryptocurrency Investments and what financial advisors and planners need to know to avoid legal actions. Attendees will gain a basic understanding of what cryptocurrency investments are and how they work. Attendees will also learn the primary areas of risk and liability that planners face using cryptocurrency investments and how to discuss the intricacies and details of various cryptocurrencies with clients. Finally, attendees will learn how planners can avoid or lessen risks and potential liabilities regarding cryptocurrency investments and client interactions.

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) hosts the FPA Annual Conference to bring together financial planners, thought leaders, service providers, and allied professionals where they can connect, learn, and explore how they can impact their community.

Andrew Shedlock focuses his practice on securities law and representing broker/dealers, Registered Investment Advisors (“RIAs”), financial planners, Certified Financial Planners®, CFPs®, financial advisors and other financial institutions and professionals in litigation, arbitration, defense of regulatory enforcement actions, general regulatory and compliance matters, broker and advisor transition matters and buy/sell transactions. He advises entrepreneurs, other individuals and businesses on Non-Fungible Tokens (“NFTs”) and cryptocurrency, including securities and contract matters in those areas. Leaning on his securities and regulatory background, he helps participants and financial advisors effectively serve clients while mitigating risk.
