Andrew King and Harper Kiefer, Kutak Rock attorneys in the firm’s Little Rock office, authored the article “Understanding the 2017 Revisions to the Arkansas Pro Hac Vice Rule” for the Winter 2022 issue of The Arkansas Lawyer, the flagship publication of the Arkansas Bar Association.

The article examines the 2017 revisions to Rule XIV of the Arkansas Rules Governing Admission to the Bar, provides a brief history of practice by comity in Arkansas, identifies four important changes to Arkansas pro hac vice practice, examines the possible consequences for noncompliance with Rule XIV, and outlines the process for admission of nonresident attorneys to participate in a case in an Arkansas court.
