Kutak Rock has been named the second-ranked bond counsel firm in the nation for 2021 in Refinitiv’s Year-end Annual Review. The firm closed 523 issues aggregating $25.43 billion and 5.6% market share. This follows the firm’s fifth-place finish in 2020.

“2021 was a tremendous year for the firm’s public finance clients,” remarked John Petr, Kutak Rock vice chair and municipal finance partner. “Our extraordinary productivity and our lofty ranking are attributable to our tireless, talented team of bond and tax professionals and to the energy, initiative and dedication of the clients that have enlisted our assistance in their efforts to serve the public good in communities across the nation. It’s a group effort and we are proud of and gratified by the opportunities we’ve had to help our clients turn visions of a better future into something more concrete.”

More than 125 attorneys comprise the firm’s National Public Finance Group across 15 office locations. The firm distinguishes itself from other municipal finance firms by maintaining an entire department of tax lawyers who focus on the area of municipal finance tax law.
