Mitchell Bragin Among Panelists at NALHFA Annual Conference

Mitchell Bragin, of counsel in Kutak Rock’s Washington, D.C. office, will participate in a panel discussion at the 2021 National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA) Virtual Conference, May 12-14.

Mr. Bragin will present during a session titled “Latest on LIHTC & Income Averaging Rule” on Thursday, May 13 at 12:15 p.m. EDT. Panelists will discuss what owners are doing in response to the IRS’ proposed Income Averaging Rule and the recommendations made in response. They will also cover other tax issues involved with tax-exempt bond financing of multifamily projects.

Speakers joining Mr. Bragin on the panel include Jed Graef, Ph.D., Business Development Manager at HDS Companies, and Charles A. Rhuda, III, CPA, Partner at Novogradac & Company LLP. The session will be facilitated by Ruth Moreira, Senior Vice President of New York City’s Housing Development Corporation.

Mitchell Bragin chairs the firm’s National Public Finance Tax Department. Before joining Kutak Rock, he was employed by the Internal Revenue Service where he was in charge of issuing rulings related to tax-exempt bonds. Mr. Bragin has been an active participant in the American Bar Association Section of Taxation, Committee on Tax-Exempt Financing, as well as the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
