Kutak Rock Partner Gigi O’Hara continued her service to the Nebraska State Bar Association (NSBA) by serving as issue editor of The Nebraska Lawyer in its annual labor and employment edition published in December 2020. This follows Ms. O’Hara’s service to the NSBA for two consecutive years as chair of the Labor Relations and Employment Law Section.

For this issue, Ms. O’Hara was primarily responsible for selecting timely topics relevant to the members of the section; finding a diverse group of contributing members of the section to author the articles; and editing the articles prior to publication. She vetted numerous topics to select interesting and timely labor and employment themes for publication. The December issue includes articles that touch on COVID-19 workplace concerns, the legal implications of marijuana in the workplace, and accommodating psychiatric disabilities, among many others.

Ms. O’Hara is a Partner in the Litigation Department of Kutak Rock’s Omaha office. She is the head of the firm’s national Wage and Hour Defense Group, where she regularly defends clients in FLSA litigation and wage and hour class and collective actions across the nation. She also leads the firm’s national OSHA Compliance & Defense Practice Group, where she navigates allegations of OSHA non-compliance and advises clients on strategy for addressing various workplace claims.
