Fred Marienthal to Present CLE Webcast at Institute on Advising Nonprofit Organizations

Fred Marienthal, a partner in the firm’s Denver office, will present a CLE webcast titled “Overview of Tax-Exempt Bonds” on Tuesday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. MST during the 29th Annual Institute on Advising Nonprofit Organizations in Colorado. The program is co-sponsored by the Business and Taxation Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Nonprofit Association, and the Colorado Society of Association Executives.

Attendees of the Annual Institute on Advising Nonprofit Organizations will hear first-hand about issues impacting Colorado nonprofit organizations to include recent tax developments pertinent to tax-exempt organizations and tax-exempt bond essentials. 

The program will:

  • Delve into the Attorney General’s oversight of charitable organizations and use of charitable assets, the successful creation of nonprofit chapters and affiliates, and Section 501 (c)(6) organizations;
  • Zero in on important issues, new legal developments, and exposure to new liabilities; and 
  • Provide guidance for advising nonprofit clients along with practical tips, best practices, and strategies.

Mr. Marienthal has participated in over 965 financings aggregating $31.9 billion and focuses his practice on higher education facility financings, conduit private activity bonds, nonprofit facility financings and multifamily housing revenue bonds. He routinely serves as bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel on tax-exempt bond financings for public and nonprofit colleges and universities, charter and independent schools, charitable organizations and housing authorities.
