Jeff Wegner, a partner in Kutak Rock’s Omaha office, will present a webinar during the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors’ (AIRA) Virtual Series scheduled throughout June. AIRA’s AC20 Virtual Series will comprise a series of webinars from more than 90 speakers who will provide insight and experience in bankruptcy and restructuring. 

On June 16 at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Wegner will participate in “Industry: Financing” alongside Jonathan Tibus, Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal, and moderator Evan Bossard, Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for Wintrust Franchise Finance. The panel will discuss the current status of the franchise space as it relates to litigation, bankruptcy, sales, turnarounds, and lending.  It will also explore the complex nature of a distressed situation that involves a powerful party getting a seat at the negotiating table—the franchisor.  

Mr. Wegner will present on bankruptcy rulings of interest in the early Covid-19 period, 2020 franchise bankruptcy filings of note, and the 2020 Small Business Reorganization Act (SBRA), which added a new subchapter to the United States Bankruptcy Code.

Mr. Wegner has 30 years of experience representing banks, institutional lenders, landlords and lessors in reorganization bankruptcy cases. He is a recognized expert in bankruptcy law.
