Kutak Rock partner Scott Jackson presented an employment law update to the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The presentation focused on employment issues in the wake of the #MeToo movement as sexual harassment claims have received increased attention from traditional and social media outlets. CLE credit was offered.

The presentation provided an overview of the #MeToo movement and its impact on employers, specifically ways to prevent and defend sexual harassment claims. Participants learned what constitutes sexual harassment under Eighth Circuit precedent, what defenses are available in responding to claims of sexual harassment, and how to evaluate potential exposure to damages. The program also covered best practices for advising employers on compliant harassment prevention policies and offered tips on guiding employers through internal and external investigations.
