In April 2016 Kutak Rock attorney Deborah Froling appeared in a podcast concerning mentorship and sponsorship of women in the financial industry.
Froling is a financial industry attorney and an advocate of mentorship and sponsorship, especially for the under-represented ranks of women in the financial profession. In the podcast, hosted by Institutional Real Estate, Inc., she explains that mentorship can be an important part of professional development. She outlines how mentor/mentee relationships can be established and how these relationships can be vital in advancing careers. She also describes sponsorship, which is different from mentorship and a relationship in which the sponsor becomes an advocate to speak on behalf of the person being sponsored when important career decisions are being made.
