Origis Energy and Mississippi Power Expand Solar Portfolio

News | June 2, 2015

Kutak Rock attorneys Todd Guerrero and Chris Heroux represented solar energy developer Origis Energy in a 52 MW solar power purchase agreement with Mississippi Power Company, a Southern Company operating utility. In addition to the power purchase agreement, Kutak Rock is also assisting Origis Energy with interconnection, regulatory and construction related project matters.

Pending approval by the Mississippi Public Service Commission, Origis Energy and Mississippi Power will develop the solar project on approximately 485 acres outside of Sumrall, Mississippi and it will be in service before the end of 2016. The energy and associated renewable energy credits generated by the solar project will be reserved by Mississippi Power for its customers, future renewable energy programs, or third parties to purchase at wholesale. The project represents a significant addition to Mississippi Power’s renewable portfolio.

Origis Energy specializes in large-scale solar photovoltaic projects. Based in Miami, Florida, the company develops, finances and operates solar plants in the United States and across the European Union.
