Jay Selanders Named Managing Partner of the Kansas City OfficeNews | July 2, 2014
Kutak Rock named Jay Selanders as the new managing partner of the firm’s Kansas City office. Selanders transitioned into the position in April 2014 and succeeds 20-year managing partner Robert Keim.
Selanders is the second managing partner of the Kansas City office since it opened in 1994. Selanders will oversee the 36-attorney office and has a vision for additional expansion to the office starting later this year.
“Jay’s leadership stood out as our corporate department chairperson the past several years,” said Keim. “He carries an excellent reputation in the world of automotive franchise, finance and bankruptcy counseling, mixed with the vision and honor of 30 years as a Colonel in the U.S. military. When you find someone so respected in the eyes of your office peers and within the community, you can’t help but ask him to lead your law firm through the next stage of growth.”
Selanders is a partner at Kutak Rock and represents corporations, financial institutions and manufacturers in a wide range of matters pertaining to commercial credit and lending, real estate loans and transactions and the representation of creditors in bankruptcy. He has particular expertise in dealing with automotive finance and franchise issues, and regularly represents lenders and franchisors in commercial transactions and bankruptcy matters across the country.
