News | April 1, 2014

Kutak Rock’s intellectual property practice continues to grow and reach out to new areas. One example of this growth is a presentation made recently by Jason Caskey, a senior associate in the intellectual property group in Kutak Rock’s Omaha office. Caskey presented on intellectual property matters to a group of technology startups at the Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania on November 10, 2013. The engagement was made in conjunction with the United States Embassy in Lithuania in partnership with STARTUP Lithuania, an organization that provides aid and incentive to startups and entrepreneurs in the Baltic region.

Caskey spoke about key issues facing technology startups, including copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and patents, based on the real-world intellectual property matters regularly handled by the attorneys in Kutak Rock’s intellectual property, technology transactions and e-commerce practice group. The presentation included a roadmap for the startups regarding protecting their intellectual property assets from the conception of ideas through commercialization of products and company growth.

Kutak Rock’s intellectual property, technology transactions and e-commerce practice group consists of lawyers throughout the firm and assists clients of all sizes in developing legal solutions and proactive strategies to protect their intellectual assets.
