Matthias Edrich, a tax partner in the Denver office of Kutak Rock LLP, spoke at the Fundamentals of Municipal Bond Law Seminar in Atlanta on May 1, 2014.
Edrich's presentation, "Avoiding the Private Activity Tests," focused on the private activity bond rules applicable to tax-exempt municipal bond transactions, including the "private payment or security test" and the "private loan financing test."
The seminar covered basic knowledge of municipal bond law and related public finance issues and was open to both National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) members and non-members. The session allowed attendants to earn CLE credits specifically geared toward municipal finance law, strengthen basic knowledge of tax, securities and state law issues relating to municipal finance, and receive both electronic and printed resource materials to use in practice.
Edrich is a member of the Kutak Rock national federal tax practice group. He is an active member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and currently serves as Vice Chair of the NABL Tax Committee.
