Matthias Edrich, a tax partner in the Denver office of Kutak Rock LLP, recently served as tax panel chair at the Tax and Securities Law Institute in Boston for the National Association of Bond Lawyers on March 27 and 28, 2014. The institute focused on state and local governments seeking to respond to regulatory measures on both the tax law side and the securities law side.
Edrich spoke as a panelist and chair during the tax law breakout session entitled "Private Activity Bonds Tests." The panel reviewed current Internal Revenue Service pronouncements relating to the private activity bond tests and discussed real-life situations requiring the identification and quantification of private activity in the context of facilities financed with the proceeds of tax-advantaged bonds.
Edrich is a member of the Kutak Rock national federal tax practice group. He is an active member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and currently serves as Vice Chair of the NABL Tax Committee.
