Michelle E. Pernicek

Michelle practices in the area of public finance and affordable housing financing. She routinely serves as bond counsel and bond purchaser’s counsel in multifamily housing financings across the country. She advises state and local issuers on multifamily transaction structures and compliance with relevant federal, state and local securities, tax and other laws. In addition, she has substantial experience as special counsel to lenders for the acquisition and documentation of interest rate caps in multifamily housing transactions.

Michelle serves on the firm’s Pro Bono and Community Service Committee and its Business Development Committee.

Outside of her public finance practice, Michelle assists as a volunteer attorney with the Legal Aid of Nebraska at various pro bono clinics throughout Omaha. In addition, Michelle serves the Nebraska State Bar Association as a current member of the House of Delegates, the Executive Committee for the Women in the Law Section, and the Judicial Resources Committee and as a past member of the Barristers’ Ball Committee. She has also volunteered her time with various civic boards and committees, including The Rose Theater Guild, as the chair of the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program Committee for Nebraska, the Omaha Performing Arts Presenters Circle Board of Directors, and as a sustainer with the Junior League of Omaha. She previously served as a mentor with the TeamMates Mentoring Program for five years and volunteered with the TeamMates Tailgate Gala Committee.

Before entering private practice, Michelle served as a law clerk for the Honorable Frankie J. Moore of the Nebraska Court of Appeals.
