For 20-plus years, Erich has maintained a diverse finance and corporate practice. In each engagement, Erich's goal is to lead working teams toward the client's objectives using a practical, efficient, value-driven approach.
Erich focuses his finance practice on tax-exempt, municipal and commercial finance, representing banks, issuers and borrowers. His practice includes serving as bond counsel. The types of finance transactions that Erich regularly leads span a wide scope of credit facilities and industries. Examples include construction to term lending in affordable housing, LIHTC transactions, serving as bond counsel for senior living facilities (continuing care retirement communities), and development/horizontal lending and guidance lines of credit for residential construction. Erich also has served as bank counsel in multiple real estate acquisition and refinancing transactions, capital call lines of credit, and asset-based lending facilities. He also has experience as disclosure counsel in MUD bond issuances and representing banks loaning into municipal deals secured as general obligation and tax revenue bonds.
In his corporate practice, Erich works primarily with nonprofit corporations, many of which operate senior living facilities, on a variety of corporate, governance, contracting, real estate and tax matters. He has assisted these clients with contract review, drafting/revising governance documents and corporate policies, development work, and mergers/acquisitions. He also has represented a number of nonprofit borrowers in real estate development transactions, including those secured in part by capital pledges and marketable securities.
Erich utilizes his general nonprofit legal experience as a member of the board of directors of TGTHR, a permanent support services provider based in Boulder, Colorado.
