Mattea concentrates her practice in complex litigation, including products liability, toxic tort litigation, personal injury actions, contract disputes, insurance-related disputes, and various other tort-related actions. Mattea further acts as national coordinating counsel for a Fortune 100 diversified manufacturing company in relation to the filing of repetitive asbestos claims. In this capacity, Mattea assists with the detailed review of historical documents and product lines as well as the development of experts in the areas of product identification, exposure and risk assessment. In addition, Mattea acts as advisory counsel to her clients. In doing so, Mattea assists her clients in implementing appropriate guidelines, procedures, training, etc. to avoid legal exposure as well as ensuring her clients are conducting themselves in accordance with applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Prior to joining Kutak Rock, Mattea served as a judicial clerk to the judges of the Fourth Judicial District Court of Nebraska. She gained valuable insight into the justice system as she worked alongside the judges in addressing dispositive motions, pretrial motions, discovery disputes and trial-related matters.
