Kutak Rock is pleased to announce that Robin Mahapatra has joined the firm as of counsel in its Washington, DC office. Robin brings extensive experience advising clients on complex tax matters across international, federal, state and local jurisdictions.

Robin’s practice focuses on providing strategic tax advice in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital transactions, business and entity formation, tax credit transactions and debt restructurings. He has represented a wide range of clients, including real estate investors and developers, as well as domestic and international hedge funds, private equity funds and their investors.

In addition, Robin has significant experience advising tax credit investors and developers on key incentive programs, including the New Markets Tax Credit, the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit and the Investment Tax Credit.

Prior to joining Kutak Rock, Robin practiced at a Big 4 accounting firm, a California-based law firm focused on real estate, and a New York-based international law firm.

Robin earned his LL.M. from New York University, his M.B.T. and J.D. from the University of Southern California, and his B.A. from Claremont McKenna College. He is admitted to practice in California, New York and Washington, D.C.
