Michael Mullin Reaches Milestone 5000th Mediation
News | March 2, 2026This week, Kutak Rock attorney Michael Mullin completed his 5,000th mediation, a rare milestone reached by few mediators nationwide.
“It has been an honor to work with so many wonderful attorneys and their clients during my 26-year mediation career. While the work is often challenging, helping to resolve complex disputes has been deeply rewarding. I am grateful to everyone who has supported my mediation practice, especially my family and colleagues.”
Mullin mediates approximately 225 disputes per year across the United States, successfully resolving over 90% of them. He has been recognized by leading legal ranking organizations, including The International Who's Who of Commercial Mediation/Who's Who Legal: Mediation, Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America®, and Benchmark Litigation.
Mullin spent the first 20 years of his career as a trial lawyer, trying dozens of jury trials and earning induction into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and other litigation societies. Since transitioning to a full-time mediation practice in 2000, Mullin has been honored with induction into the International Academy of Mediators, the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
Mullin was only the 12th recipient of the Omaha Bar Association’s “Lifetime Achievement Award.” He has also been honored with the “Legal Pioneer Award” by the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, and the “Richard S. Arnold Award for Distinguished Service” from the Association of the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, presented at the Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference in Kansas City during the summer of 2025.
