Kutak Rock is pleased to welcome attorney Kirsten Mood to the firm, effective February 9. Kirsten brings deep experience in city, county and local government law. She joins Kutak Rock from a Florida-based firm where she advised local governments and public entities on a wide range of complex legal issues, including land use, real estate and title, public finance, and other general governmental matters.

Prior to entering private practice, Kirsten served as a senior staff attorney at the Florida Supreme Court, where she advised and supported Justices on death penalty appeals and high-level legal and constitutional matters. She also previously held the role of assistant blueprint attorney with the Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, supporting local government infrastructure projects, economic development, and public finance.

Kirsten earned her J.D. from the Florida State University College of Law, where she was actively involved in leadership and scholarship, including serving as president and treasurer of the Intellectual Property Law Society, secretary of the Black Law Students Association, and articles & notes editor for the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stanford University.

Kirsten recently earned Florida Bar Board Certification in City, County, and Local Government Law, a distinction awarded to attorneys who demonstrate exceptional knowledge, experience and professionalism in the field.
