Kutak Rock’s Matt Boch to Speak at ABA-IPT Advanced State Income Tax Seminar

This event is designed for tax professionals across industries and will address complex issues in state and local taxation.
Matt will participate in the panel “All Rise! Insights From the Bench” on Monday, March 10, from 1:50 to 2:50 p.m. CDT. The session will bring together prominent tax court judges and professionals to discuss key legal principles, procedural considerations, and best practices in state tax litigation. The panel will explore topics such as statutory construction, equity arguments, and the role of witnesses in tax cases.

Matt has extensive experience in tax law and in state and local tax (SALT) and economic development. He has been an influential voice in shaping Arkansas tax policy, providing counsel to the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce to promote tax policies focused on attracting businesses and jobs. His commitment to tax fairness and simplification led to his instrumental role in the creation of the Arkansas Tax Appeals Commission, an independent body established to resolve taxpayer disputes.
Matt most recently served as the Chief Commissioner of the Arkansas Tax Appeals Commission, overseeing appeals concerning state income tax, sales tax and use tax disputes. In this role, he both managed administrative operations and adjudicated cases. Before his appointment as a commissioner in 2022, he built a strong reputation as a leading private practice SALT and economic development attorney.
