Kutak Rock partner Peter Barrett will be a featured panelist at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C., taking place April 25–27, 2025. Peter will join fellow experts on Saturday, April 26 for a presentation titled “Mediation in Subchapter V Cases: How to Use Mediation Tools to Facilitate Consensual Plans of Reorganization.”

The panel will explore how Subchapter V trustees and other restructuring professionals can apply mediation techniques to promote consensus in small business bankruptcies. Topics include the statutory duty of Subchapter V trustees to facilitate plan development, practical mediation tools and techniques, and the unique role trustees play in fostering communication and resolution among parties.

Peter represents unsecured and secured creditors, trustees, lessors, equity holders and corporate debtors in insolvency matters, including Chapter 11 reorganizations, business liquidations and loan workouts.
