Peter Barrett, a partner in the firm’s Richmond office, is speaking at the 38^th Annual Mid-Atlantic Institute on Bankruptcy and Reorganization conference on Friday, September 15. He will participate in a panel discussion on litigation financing in bankruptcy. This panel will discuss the availability of and proper use and limitations on litigation finance and provide practice pointers on pre-filing investigation of avoidance claims and potential defenses.

Peter represents unsecured and secured creditors, trustees, lessors, equity holders and corporate debtors in insolvency matters, including Chapter 11 reorganizations, business liquidations and loan workouts. He also represents clients in connection with acquisition of distressed assets and insolvency-related litigation. Based in the Richmond, Virginia office of Kutak Rock, Peter regularly appears in bankruptcy courts across the country to represent the interests of firm clients. Peter also serves as a member of the panel of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees for the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division.
