Brian Bartels, partner and member of the firm’s national Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group, will present a live 60-minute compliance webinar hosted by United Benefits Advisors® (UBA), on July 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. CDT. The monthly webinar series from UBA helps employers and HR professionals learn about rapidly changing employee benefits laws.

This month’s webinar, Getting It Right: ACA Counting, Tracking, and Reporting, will examine the look-back measurement method and how to address common ACA reporting errors. Attendees will also gain insights into the importance of controlled groups in ACA compliance, why proper employee classification matters, and ACA issues to consider in merger and acquisition transactions.

Brian works with clients on employee benefit plan issues and advises on group health plans, wellness programs, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA, ERISA, the No Surprises Act, mental health parity requirements, cafeteria plans, health savings accounts, and other health and welfare plans. He regularly drafts and negotiates service agreements and business associate agreements for employee benefit plans. Brian also prepares plan-related documents and employee communications and counsels clients on benefit plan design and administration issues. Additionally, Brian advises clients on employee benefit issues in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
