Kutak Rock Welcomes Sarah Heffley to its Rogers Office
News | December 06, 2022Kutak Rock is pleased to announce that Sarah Heffley, an accomplished attorney with over 30 years of diverse experience, has joined its commercial litigation practice group in the firm’s Rogers, AR office.
“Sarah has a wide-ranging background with diverse proficiencies, and we are excited to welcome her to our team of talented litigators,” said Jennie Stewart, regional managing partner of the firm’s Arkansas offices. “I know that her experience will be beneficial to our clients all across Arkansas.”
Ms. Heffley worked as in-house counsel with Walmart, Inc. on the litigation team, managing tort cases and working with outside counsel around the United States. She left Walmart in 2007 to serve two years on the Arkansas Court of Appeals. Upon completing her term on the Court, she returned to Walmart where she continued working on the tort team and served as the Section Head for two years. She remained at Walmart until June 2018.
Before moving in-house, Ms. Heffley practiced law in two Little Rock firms and clerked for an Arkansas Supreme Court Justice and an Arkansas Court of Appeals Judge. She served as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Mike Huckabee for over four years. During that time, she served as a liaison to various state agencies and as advisor on criminal justice. For two general sessions and one special session, Ms. Heffley also served as the legislative clerk for the governor’s office, receiving and reviewing all bills and resolutions from the General Assembly before presenting them to the governor for his action. Ms. Heffley left the governor’s office to serve as director of the Arkansas Crime Information Center prior to moving in-house with Walmart.

Ms. Heffley received her B.A. from Harding University in 1983 and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1991. She is licensed to practice in Arkansas.
