This is the 13th edition of the annual analysis that reviews more than 22,000 U.S. law firms across 75 national practice areas in more than 180 metropolitan areas. Of the 22,000 reviewed, 2,071 firms earned a national recognition. To be eligible for a national or metropolitan ranking, a law firm practice area must have at least one lawyer in that practice listed in “Best Lawyers,” which recognizes the top 5 percent of practicing attorneys in the U.S.
